Wednesday 1st November – The Conservative Club, Radway Place, Sidmouth, EX10 8TL 3 pm to 5.30 pm. Admission is £15 at the door, preferably by cash or cheque payable to P ALLEN.
Sunday 5th November – The Bacon Arms, Oxford Street, Newbury, RG14 1JB. 2.30 pm to 5 pm. Admission is £15 at the door, preferably by cash or cheque payable to P ALLEN.
Special guest on 5th November is Ian Bateman on trombone
With a career that has seen him reach the top of his profession with the likes of the Pete Allen Jazz Band, Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band and Terry Lightfoot and his Jazzmen, Ian is one of the most in-demand jazz trombonists in Europe. This has led to tours, theatres, festivals, jazz clubs in all genres of jazz, for Ian is accomplished in all styles. You’ll find him regularly appearing with The Back To Basie Orchestra, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Echoes of Ellington and the various productions of The Jazz Reperatory Company. Session work for The Bryan Ferry Orchestra and various artistes at Abbey Road studios too.
Ian has spent most of his career playing in the top jazz groups and big bands produced in the UK from the late 1970’s to the present day. Monday 4th December 2023 – The Pete Allen Band is appearing at the Pizza Express, London.
Another special date for your diary is the evening of Monday 4th December 2023. The band is playing at the Pizza Express, Dean Street, London. This is one of London’s finest jazz venues and if we can get a full house it means we will get an annual gig.
